Make your own potpourri
a great house warming gift. Or spring time lift after spring house cleaning
In a large, glass or stainless steel bowl, combine the following:
5 c. rose petals
2 c. lavender flowers
1 c. rosemary
1/2 c. oakmoss
1/2 cinnamon chips (or 6 broken cinnamon sticks)
1/2 c. dried lemon peel
1/4 c. whole cloves
Mix well. Now in a separate bowl, combine the following:
1 c. Orris root
20 drops lavender e.o.
25 drops rose e.o.
20 drops rose geranium e.o.
20 drops lemon e.o.
15 drops rosemary e.o.
Mix well. Now combine the potpourri mixture from above with the essential oil mixture and put into a sealed container and let "steep" for at least three weeks. (I usually let mine cure for six weeks, but you can use it sooner than six weeks. I just like the stronger smell.)
Gently shake the mixture at least once a day to make sure you evenly distribute the e.o's throughout the mixture.
