Sit, listen to the wind, birds and trees. Allow the beauty and chaos that is nature to enter and propel you through this time we call life. Breath in the smells of an open fire place and a camp fire. Know the difference they have on you and your surroundings. Give with an open heart and mind. Know that there are richer and poorer. But never measure those two thoughts by the amount of money one has. For richness is how you live and give of yourself, not what you have.

The tree of life ~The gift of unity
The tree of life can be made as a pendant, ear rings or a broach. It reminds us of the unity of family. As a special mothers day present or Yule present for a mother or grandmother would be to make some of the beads green like leaves and add the colors of the children or grand children's birthstone colors. Each branch could be a child's family.
It would also be quite nice used as a tool to draw something to you like green for money and so on. will include the colors for birth stones and as a charm to draw things to you.
It would make a great stocking stuffer craft. Simply get a pretty jewellery box and include the instructions (photos) and the meaning behind the colors.
A wonderful craft for crafty pre-teens and teens. And a heart felt gift from anyone. Items to include are at the bottom of this blog.

How to Make Incense Paper
Items needed:
Blotting paper, cut to 6" x 1" strips
1 1/2 t. salt peter dissolved in 1/2 c. water
Fragrance oil or essential oil of your choice - 2 -3 drops
Soak the paper strips in the salt peter solution with the essential/fragrance oil added to the solution. Allow them to dry. After drying, coat paper with a gum or resin tincture. Dry.
To use: light the paper, blow out the flame. Keep paper upright to allow air circulation to keep it burning. I use a large paperclip to hold mine.
Note: The best tinctures I've found for this are made from gums and resins such as frankincense, myrrh, or copal. I also use the same e.o. or fragrance oil. Or you can you any combination that you like. It's all good (grins). Pour into your bottle and then let sit for about 2 weeks, while shaking each day to mix everything up well.
To make a tincture from gums and resins, pound the gum and resin till its a fine powder. Pour alcohol on top of the powder. Vodka or Ever-clear work really well. Dark glass bottles are best for storage.
