Traditional Sabbat Incense

CANDLEMAS:
Angelica, basil, bay, benzoin, celandine, heather, myrrh, and all yellow
flowers.

SPRING EQUINOX:
Acorn, celendine, cinquefoil, crocus, daffodil, dogwood, Easter lilly,
honeysuckle, iris, jasmine, rose, strawberry, tansey, and violets.

BELTANE:
Almond, angelica, ash tree, bluebells, cinquefoil, daisy, frankincense,
hawthorn, ivy, lilac, marigold, meadowsweet, primrose, roses, satyrion root,
woodruff, and yellow cowslips.

SUMMER SOLSTICE:
Chamomile, cinquefoil, elder, fennel, hemp, larkspur, lavender, male fern,
mugwort, pine, roses, Saint John's wort, wild thyme, wisteria, and verbena.

LAMMAS:
Acacia flowers, aloes, cornstalks, cyclamen, fenugreek, frankincense, heather,
hollyhock, myrtle, oak leaves, sunflower, and wheat.

AUTUMN EQUINOX:
Acorns, asters, benzoin, ferns, honeysuckle, marigold, milkweed, mums, myrrh,
oak leaves, passionflower, pine, roses, sage, Soloman's seal, and thistles.

SAMHAIN:
Acorns, apples, broom, deadly nightshade, dittany, ferns, flax, fumitory,
heather, mandrake, mullein, oak leaves, sage, and straw.

WINTER SOLSTICE:
Bay, bayberry, blessed thistle, cedar, chamomile, evergreen, frankincense,
holley, juniper, mistletoe, moss, oak, pine cones, rosemary, and sage.

A Yule Prayer to the Old Gods

As you celebrate Yule, think about the history of this Sabbat, and how
important this time of year must have been to our ancient ancestors.

The Holly King is gone, and the Oak King reigns -
Yule is the time of the old winter gods!
Hail to Baldur! To Saturn! To Odin!
Hail to Ameratsu! To Demeter!
Hail to Ra! To Hours!
Hail to Frigga, Minerva Sulis and Cailleach Bheur!
It is their season, and high in the heavens,
May they grant us their blessings this winter day.

Ritual and Spell oils

Weather Protection Oil

To be used on candles and self when doing spells and rituals involving weather

2 tbsp sweet almond oil
2 tbsp jojoba oil
1 1/2 tsp beeswax
10 drops german chamomile, calendula, or carrot seed oil

Heat sweet almond oil, jojoba oil and beeswax in a double boiler just until the wax has melted. Mix well. Add the E.O.
Pour into a 2 oz jar.
This will store up to 1 year.

Money oil

to use with money spells

1/8 Cup base oil of your choice
5 drops Sandalwood
5 drops Patchouli EO
2 drops Ginger EO
2 drops Vetivert EO
1 drop Orange EO

As you blend the oils, visualize your intent, and take in the aroma.
Know that this oil is sacred and magical. Label, date, and store in a
cool, dark place.

Jupiters Blessing Oil

Jupiter, the planet of expansion, prosperity, and abundance, rules over
Thursday

 Blend a container of oil that helps to draw Jupiter's
blessings. This oil can be worn on the skin, rubbed on candles and
petition parchments, poured into prosperity baths with other
ingredients, and utilized for spells requiring improved finances and an
abundance of good luck. Wash and sterilize one small jar. Pour some
cold-pressed carrier oil such as almond or jojoba into the jar. Add a
few drops of peppermint, spearmint, and cinnamon essential oils, as well
as the oil of cinquefoil and High John the Conqueror to the carrier oil.
The volume of the carrier oil must be more than the essential oils. Mix
thoroughly and let stand in a dark cupboard for two weeks before
decanting into small dark-colored bottles with droppers. This oil may
also be given to people who are in need.

Yule oil

To be used on Yule candles The Yule log and for rituals at Yule

2 drops of each Cinnamon and Clove oil,
1 drop of mandarin oil,
1 drop of popine oil
2 drops each frankincense and Myrrh oil.
1/2 oz carrier oil

mix and store in small bottle

Hecate Oil

Wear during ritual of defensive Magick.
Also wear during the waning of the Moon in honor of Hecate

 3 drops Myrrh
2 drops Cypress
1 drop Patchouli
1 dried Mint leaf.

Mix the essential oil in a base of Sesame or Almond oil
Add the dried Mint leaf and blend.

Prosperity Oil

This classic prosperity oil has been used for at least 100 years. It is best made on a Thursday and is believed to be most effective if allowed to sit for three weeks after mixing.

A small green piece of fabric may be anointed with the oil and carried in the purse.
The oil may be worn as a perfume.
Omit the base oil if you wish to use with an aromatherapy oil warmer.


 One part basil powder.
One part spearmint essential oil.
One quarter part cinnamon essence.
Six parts base oil (Almond oil).


Mix all ingredients carefully and put into a dark glass bottle.
Allow it to sit for at least three weeks then strain through a cheesecloth or muslin to remove
the basil powder residue. Keep a small coin in the bottle and keep away from direct sunlight.

Spring Equinox Oil

Use on candles tools and yourself during a ritual  or spell work

4 drops lavender,
2 drops each apple, pear, peach oil,
1 drop each thyme, marjoram and elder oils.
1/2 oz carrier oil

mix and store in a small bottle

Mid summers Eve Oil

For use in love spells and rituals

4 drops lavender oil,
3 drops Rosemary oil,
1 drop Pine Oil.
(Use 1/2 0z Sunflower oil as your base)

mix together and store in small bottle

Lugnasadh Oil
 Use for anointing, ritual and spell work

2 drops peppermint oil,
3 drops elder oil,
1 drop fir oil,
1 drop hazelnut oil.

(Use corn oil as a base)

Mix in 1/2 0z corn oil.

Blessing oil

For ritual and spell work

--1 to 4 lavender blossoms
--2 drops each sage, basil, patchouli essential oil
--Carrier oil (can be olive used for protection, almond, sunflower, etc.)

Choose a small dark vial. Place all but the oil in the vial together, then add enough oil to fill the bottle.
Shake thoroughly. Use for anointing ritual candles, self, consecrating tools, etc.
Lavender is there for purification, happiness, love, and peace; Basil brings protection and love;
Sage brings purification, protection, healing, wealth, longevity;
Patchouli brings prosperity, wards off evil and negativity, aids divination.
All of these are desirable generic attributes so makes a good blend for general purposes.
Great for keeping on your personal altar for magical workings

2 parts Frankincense
1 part Benzoin gum.

Add 2 tablespoons of this mix to 2 ounces of oil.

Confusion oil

Confuses one who is trying to cast a spell on you. Good for
breaking curses and hexes. Works very well.

3 drops Vetivert
3 drops Lavender
3 drops Galangal
Burnt knotted shoelace
1/2 oz carrier oil

Mix oils with carrier oil and add a pinch of burnt shoelace dust.

Wear to the Sabbats to promote communion with the deities.

2 parts Frankincense
1 part Myrrh
1 part Carnation
1 part Allspice

Mix in a small bottle and wear or use to anoint candles.

Wear to honor the Goddess during rituals.

3 parts Rose
2 parts Gardenia
1 part Lemon
1 part Lotus
1 part Ambergris

Mix in a small bottle.

Anoint the altar with this oil at regular intervals to purify and empower it.

4 parts Frankincense
3 parts Myrrh

3 drops jasmine oil
2 drops sandalwood oil
1 drop lemon oil

Combine and use to anoint candles, yourself or use in rituals

Good luck/ Job oil

For annointing candles and yourself when doing job spells or interviews

1 pinch each of
Allspice,
cinnamon,
sage,
dill,

from kitchen cupboard of grocery shop and mix with
base oil - olive oil is fine.


Warm leaves overnight strain through a tea strainer if you wish or just use.

Autumn Sabbat is upon us

As we pass into autumn, the harvests are winding down and we are beginning the canning and other preparations for the sleepy winter months.

Autumn Ritual Incense

A wonderful mix to delight the senses and bring action to your ritual, a n evening at home, or any time you want to connect with the essence of autumn

* 2 parts Myrrh
*3 parts Frankincense
* 1 part Rosemary
* 1 part Cedar
* 1 part Juniper

Mix well.  Burn during Autumn Sabbat rituals.

Hearth Incense

An incense to help promote a safe, warm, loving home.

* 2 parts Dragons Blood Resin
* 12 parts Juniper
* 2 parts Sassafras
* 2 parts Orange Flowers
* 2 parts Myrrh Resin
* 5 parts Rose Petals

Burn on a charcoal disk, safely placed in an appropriate container
of sand.

Altar Incense

To purify and protect your sacred space...

* Patchouli for Earth protection
* Lavender for Air purification
* Copal for Fire purification
* Myrrh for water purification

Grind the herbs and resins finely in a mortar and pestle, filling
them with their desired intention.

Burn the mixture over a hot charcoal, and let the smoke cleanse
your space.

House Protection Oil

Anointed on charms designed to protect the home from evil. Sprinkled
about the home to keep evil influences away.

Use equal parts of the following;
five-finger grass, sandalwood, gardenia petals and purslane herb.

 Add two tablespoons of this mixture to two ounces of
oil. One pinch of blessed salt is put in each bottle of oil made.

Uncrossing Oil

Good to undo star crossed lovers magick, straighten out messages that have been crossed, and getting things back on track.

Mix two parts sandalwood, patchouli leaves and myrrh, with one part
five-finger grass.
Add two tbsps. of this mixture to two ounces of oil.
Put a pinch of blessed salt and eight drops of household ammonia
to each 1 ounce bottle of oil. Shake well before each use.

To make a personal protection oil blend together the oils of  rosemary, rose geranium, and cypress.
This oil is also used to anoint candles and is added to protective cleansing baths.

1 T base oil
4 drops Primrose
4 drops Lavendar
2 drops Sandalwood

In many forms of magick you will need to use oil. This is a simple
way to make your own oil. Fill a small jar with the leaves or flowers
of the herb(s) you want to use. Pour olive oil over them, cover
tightly, Keep it in a warm place, out of sunlight for three days,
each day, shake the bottle to thoroughly wet the leaves, Third day:
strain oil, fill the jar with fresh leaves/ flowers, pour same oil
back into jar, repeat several times, until the oil is heavily
saturated with fragrance, Finally strain the oil through filter paper
( muslin / cheese cloth)
