Hot Chocolate gifts

Candy Cane Hot chocolate "Gift in a jar"

This can be made in quart jars or pint jars. It makes 3 quart or 6 pint jars of yummy mix some to keep and some to give away.
- 6  cups powdered milk
- 1 (5 ounce) package non-instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 c powdered chocolate drink mix
- 1 cup dried marsmellows
- 1/2 c powdered non dairy creamer
- 1/2 c confectioners sugar
- 1/2 c unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups crushed candy canes                                                               
                                                                                                                  
 In a large bowl, combine powdered milk, chocolate pudding mix, chocolate drink mix powder, creamer, confectioners' sugar, crushed candy canes and cocoa. Divide the mixture between three (1 quart) jars or six (1 pint) jars. Seal, and decorate as desired. These can be stored in a dry area for  3 months. 

2. Attach a tag with the following instructions:

Candy Cane Hot Cocoa:
Dissolve 1/3 cup cocoa mix in 1 cup boiling water. (two heaping tablespoons.)


Malted milk homemade hot chocolate mix


Yields 5-1/2 cups dry mix (1 qt)

2 cups powdered sugar
1 cup powdered cocoa
'2-1/2 cups malted milk powder
1 teaspoon salt
    In a bowl add all ingredients and whisk together. Add to clean jar, top tightly with lid, add gift tag with the following directions: Fill mug halfway with dry mix. Warm milk and add to mug. Stir and enjoy!

 

Homemade Yuletide Marshmallow stirs

Yields 12 stirs
  • 12 full-size marshmallows
  • 12 miniature candy canes
  • 1/2 cup melted semisweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes
  1. Place a piece of parchment paper on a flat surface.
  2. Line up marshmallows and stick miniature candy canes into the middle of each marshmallow.
  3. Dip into melted chocolate, sprinkle with crushed candy canes and set onto parchment paper.
  4. Let chocolate harden and enjoy by dropping into hot chocolate for a sweet peppermint treat!
